Blueberry-Honeydew Smoothie

It’s really been warm lately, so I’ve been making lots of smoothies—they just taste so good on a hot day! One fruit that I really love but haven’t used that much in smoothies is honeydew melon, so I made sure to add that in this recipe!

So I blended chunks of honeydew melon with some frozen blueberries, and it tasted great! The frozen blueberries make the smoothie nice and cool, and there’s some banana and yogurt in this that make it creamy. Here’s the recipe…

BLUEBERRY-HONEYDEW SMOOTHIE by NancyC

Makes 2 (8-ounce) servings

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup honeydew melon (cut melon into small chunks–you can substitute cantaloupe if you want)
  • 1/2 medium or large size banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2  to 1 Tablespoon honey
  • Optional: 1/2 Tablespoon ground flaxseed

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth (if you want extra fiber, add the ground flaxseed into the blender, too). Pour into two glasses and serve immediately. Makes 2 (8-ounce) servings.

This smoothie is also sweetened with honey—you could also use pure maple syrup as a sweetener. What’s your favorite smoothie flavor?

  1. I don’t believe I have ever used any kind of melon in my smoothies…but this sounds amazing! Might have to give this a go… 🙂

  2. Hello Nancy I have purchased a few knives from Japan. There is nothing like a little Japanese steel in your kitchen. I bought my knives near the Kannai station. He makes all of his knives by hand. I have never tried your brand. I love your Mellon in your smoothie I bet it gives it a lovely texture too.

  3. I just love smoothies 🙂 The melon in it tastes great, right 🙂 I always put melon in it when nobody here has eaten it and it’s clearly time to do something with it (you know what I mean 😉 )
